The wrap is a woven fabric suitable for carrying a child. Some think it’s simply a strong piece of cloth, but this is not true. A wrap is made from a special woven fabric, which is made to be fixed in its width and length, but is flexible diagonally. This makes the fabric embrace the babies shape, but holds her/his weight stable.
The criteria for a good quality wrap:
- It’s made from high quality yarn, which is coloured with baby-friendly dye. Thanks to this it’s not toxic or allergenic.
- All the quality wraps go under Oeko-tex tests, and only materials which meet a high standard can be wraps. All our wraps have the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 qualification.
- Thanks to the special weaving technique during production, wraps are more resistant to damage than other types of woven materials of this thickness. While a simple weaved canvas fabric splits when damaged, if our jacquard-weaved wraps are damaged, holes may form on the fabric’s surface, but the fabric doesn’t split.
- Wraps are made from natural yarns like cotton, linen, silk, etc. We use only 100% cotton. Our experience tells us that this blend is the easiest to care for, is breathable in the summer, warm in the winter, and doesn’t require any “breaking-in” process. Cotton is clear, natural, and breathable, and better for sensitive skin.
- Our wraps are made from GOTS-certified organic cotton. The cotton’s cultivation, harvesting, processing and the making of the fabric yarn is eco-friendly and fair trade, made without any toxic chemicals.
We make our wraps and ring slings from such great material for you.
