With no experience we believe we need these, because we try to prepare for everything, as if it was an exam – but the truth is different. After your baby, up to that point protected in a safe place, is born, you’ll figure out gradually what she/he really needs. They actually have simple needs in the first weeks: nourishment, rest, and the mother’s closeness. During babywearing it’s all met.

Babywearing can be the best equipment to ease the pain of the separation of birth, because it can be difficult for you both now. While wearing your baby you can experience the togetherness again, your baby calms down hearing the familiar heartbeat, feeling the mother’s unique scent, her touch.

Babywearing allows you to breastfeed discreetly even in public places, if you’d like to feed your baby unnoticed.

Babies sleep well in wraps, ensuring a few hours of rest for the most needy babies – and for their mother, too. Even fathers can be a part of babywearing: it can help bonding with them as well.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

Happier parents

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

As a lot of research shows, the critical period in a relationship is not the feared seventh year but the period after the birth of the first child. The parents are often tired, uncertain and irritable, which can lead to arguments even in the best relationships.

Thanks to babywearing, the babies can be more peaceful and calm, and become “well behaved babies,” which can smooth some wrinkles on the foreheads of the parents. Less worry obviously leads to better mood and happier parents.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Psychological and neurological development

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Thinking that a carried child becomes unreasonably attached to his/her caregiver, growing up to be clingy, shy, helpless and insecure is a misbelief. Babywearing does not just help the physical development of the child, but the psychological development as well.

During carrying she/he can explore the world in a safe place. The wrap surrounds the child as her/his mother’s womb did before, shielded from the external stress, noises and scents. For the more developed baby we can ensure enough space to see and hear everything, but give the chance to hide if there is too much impact. This way the nervous system’s development is optimal during babywearing, because you can give your child the chance to experience things, but you can protect her/him if necessary.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”36396″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Physical development

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

With the carefully chosen carrier we not only support our child’s psychological development, but their physical development as well. Supporting the hip and the spine is necessary during carrying, as we would do instinctively when holding our children in our arms due to their stage of development. The wrap supports the baby’s head, embracing her/his spine, this way ensuring the right physiological posture for them. The idea that babies can rest better laying on their back is a misbelief, because their spine is not structured the same way as an adult’s. The spinal curves are forming gradually, firstly in the neck when the baby starts to lift and hold her/his head, and in the lower part of the back when she/he starts to learn to stand up unaided and walk. Right after birth, ensuring the “C” shape to their spine helps them to reach their natural physiological posture – and wearing your baby in a wrap is a sure way to achieve this.

However, the appropriate position is necessary for this, because the “C” shape can only form if the baby is facing the parent during carrying (either worn on front, back, or hip). If the baby is facing out, their spine is under a lot of pressure because, instead of the healthy “C” shape, their spine is forced into a reverse curve. Even though the baby seems to enjoy this posture, at this age we need to rely on more than their own self-expression, since we are their parents.
Babywearing and a well chosen wrap helps the proper development of the hip, because supporting the baby’s legs from knee to knee and elevating the knees to the belly button’s level is the best thing at this age. Babywearing in a wrap is highly recommended for babies with hip dysplasia, because this posture of the hip is very similar to the posture a Pavlik harness makes, for instance, and aids proper development.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Practical advantages

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

While you wear your baby in a wrap, your hands are free, so you can use them freely. Whether it be household chores, or taking care of a bigger sibling, free hands are a big help. If we wear our baby on our back we can cook or iron – even doing the groceries is easier. Babies who can’t sit up by themselves should not be placed in a shopping cart, and pushing a shopping cart while pushing a pram is impossible. Travelling with public transport is easier if we use a wrap. Even though there are lots of low-floor vehicles, and specific areas for prams, it’s easier to get on and off in the crowded periods while carrying your baby. You can climb stairs more easily, even go hiking. It’s helpful that baby carrier equipment can fit into small spaces, you don’t have to store it in the hall or narrow corridors, and they won’t bring mud into your apartment as prams do.

A child’s weight in a wrap feels more balanced on the carrier’s body – it puts weight on the shoulders, back, and waist equally – and in this way we can carry them for longer periods than if we were carrying our baby in our arms. For parents with toddlers there is one more advantage: their kids can’t run away in dangerous places, they don’t have to run after them, and know they are safe in the carrier.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Bonus

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

The wrap is not just practical, but pretty as well. So many colours and patterns are available that anyone can fulfill their preferences and match their clothing style, starting from monochrome for elegant moms, through to the sporty dads and the lovers of colours. Wraps can be part of our everyday style as well as when we dress up for special events, and can even be worn as a stylish accessory.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]
Back
[/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Because babywearing is the easiest and most amazing wonder you can give your child while she/he is little.

[2
