While immersed in the rich pattern-treasure of folk art, looking for themes and patterns, the world of embroidered coats stepped in. Living close to the Hortob\u00e1gy region, this clothing of the shepherds is well known to us. I was getting acquainted with more and more beautiful patterns of the embroidered coats, when I noticed a small detail. In the leaves and flowers of richly embroidered clothing I saw the wing of an angel, like a child seeing something in the clouds. My heart was suddenly captured by the feeling that I want an angel-themed wrap!The angel-theme and the embroidered coats were finding each other, because of their common values and spirituality. The embroidered coat is the shepherd’s indispensable garment. It played an important social role because it indicated the distinguished rank of the wearer. A lad could not marry till he had the embroidered coat which would be worn on his wedding day. This was the vestment of a peasant through his life. It represented great value, for a lifetime.<\/p>\n

As the embroidered coat serves the wearer, so the baby wearing wrap serves the child. There is a lifetime bond between coat and wearer, as between mother and child. The wrap defends and hugs the baby, as the wing of an angel.<\/p>\n

For me the central motif of the pattern is an angel, which hugs our baby with its fluffy wings. Between their wings there is the sun, the moon and the stars, the whole world\/universe. Many see angels, eagles, falcons, pheonixes, flowers, princesses, fairies, butterflies, motherhood, birth, or even the mythical dream of Emese in the pattern. It means something different for everybody, this is why it is so special. It gives everyone what they need. Maybe that is the most beautiful part of it.<\/p>\n

Unbeknownst to us, we were weaving into the wrap this ancient folk prayer, which finally found us. In old traditions there were 3 angels next to a person: \u201cOne who guards, one who teaches, one waiting for my soul.\u201d The angel is often a symbol of the soul, represented as a bird. The complexity contained in the prayer shows in the pattern.<\/p><\/div>\n

First, when you receive the wrap, it might be stiff and slippery due to the finish of the weave. Please wash it before wearing it for the first time, as washing and steam ironing will work wonders on your wrap. After a few wrapping occasions it becomes soft and the slippery feeling goes. Our wraps might seem thin to the touch, but don\u2019t be mistaken: they are strong and supportive thanks to the density of the weave.
\nBoth sides can be used and they both look pretty when tied.<\/p>\n

It is a 100% cotton woven product. Some pilling might occur on parts of the wrap which are used more often. This is a natural characteristic of the fabric. Occasionally, small yarn nubs and slubs might occur on wraps. These defects happen during the weaving process. They are usually not visible and do not influence the quality of the wrapping.<\/em><\/p>\n

All wraps are made of Oeko-Tex Standard 200 and GOTS certified materials (including dyeing and weaving).<\/p>\n
